In Photoshop, sometimes you want to add special text characters or symbols. But the symbols or special text character aren’t available in your keybord. How to insert them to your doccument as @, Copyright ©, Registered ®, Trademark™ or currency symbols (¥, £, ¢, etc.) or any Special Symbols (¤ ª ß ⅔ ⍵ ⍺ ① ☹ ♞ ♚ ♠ ♬ ♪ ☭ ☁ ☼ ♥ ☊ « ☺ » º ..)
In this tutorial, I will show how to add Characters & Symbols to doccument Photoshop. I’m using window 7 and Photoshop CS6. But this tutorial can use to Window XP and Photoshop CS2, CS3 and almost version Photoshop.
We will show the easiest way to insert text special character or symbols by using Character Map program in Microsoft Windows. This way applys not only Photoshop but also all other programs as : Word, excel…
The fist step, you go to Start and type “Character Map” on Search programs and files box on Window 7 ( Win XP “Run box”)
Click to Character Map program as picture. You will see Character Map Option, you want to insert what symbol you move your mouse and click to this symbol and click Insert button. ( I choose Copyright © as example )
Then Click “Copy” next to “Insert button”. Then you paste to your doccument or Ctrl + V
The other way, You can use shortcuts keybord or hot key to insert special character and Symbols
